How to support the “Kill the Cookie Banner” campaign
We are pleased that you are interested in supporting this initiative to kill the cookie banner – and to establish automated signals that would communicate people’s privacy preferences between their device and websites or apps.
There are three ways in which you can support this campaign:
- Become a campaign member
- Campaign members are actively involved in campaign activities. They provide outreach and legitimacy based on the strategic direction defined by the strategic group (see below). Campaign members can, for example, be members of organisations in the strategic group, represent other civil society sectors, academics etc. Campaign members bring evidence, expertise and insight from their own networks. They mobilise their constituencies or communities in support of campaign actions, particularly at a national level. Members take part in campaign coordination meetings.
- Become a campaign supporter
- Campaign supporters are individuals (such as MEPs, public figures, experts, etc.) or organisations and other stakeholders who support and amplify the campaign but do not want to become or do not qualify as campaign members. They help broaden the reach via additional networks or parts of society and increase the visibility of the campaign and its public pressure.
- Become part of the strategic group
- The campaign strategy is defined by a select group of organisations with the mandate, expertise and responsibility to guide the campaign. They define the overall campaign objectives, messages and activities. Strategic members have a strong record with working on the GDPR and e-privacy and/or online advertising.
